Counseling
Depression is serious and often goes untreated in children and teens. Symptoms might be overlooked or minimized as part of growing up or something that will pass with time. In this blog we will look at how teens can receive help for their symptoms. Depression is treatable.
Children and teen depression therapy is effective in helping children and adolescents overcome the symptoms of depression. With counseling, children and teens soon learn that their feelings can change. There is hope for their future. Life can and will get better. They discover that there are some things they can do to better cope with their problems. The can talk about their pain, frustration, fears, and anger. They learn that they are not alone. Getting help for depression early can help prevent future problems and foster healthy growth and development.
The best way to receive the treatment needed for Suicide and Depression isn’t only found just through counseling. There is the religious and spiritual way of taking care of these symptoms. By going to church, praying to God, and living the life that Christ teaches us to live will help us get through those rough times. I believe that this is the main way of dealing with ANY type of symptoms not just suicide and depression. By asking God to guide us and help us, he will be there by our side to comfort and teach us the correct paths to choose.

Medical Treatment for Depression
There are ways to treat depression, one of which is through the use of medical treatment. With proper medical care you can get medicine to help deal with and treat depression. There are many different types of medicine that can be taken, such as Prozac and Zoloft. Each type treats depression in a similar manner, changing the balance of certain chemicals in certain parts of the body. They do have great effects, though most also have harmful effects too. The Catholic Church doesn't condemn antidepressants, though it does frown upon abuse of medication, believing that all help ultimately comes from God and He would want us to get help.
These antidepressant medications have good benefits, improving emotions, such as happiness. They help relieve feelings of sadness and loneliness, improving some one's attitude. By taking the antidepressants, the person's mood is elevated. In addition, they can help people with depression be more outward acting and interact with people, which is especially helpful for children and adolescents. People can have normal lives; going to work or school and being with other people.
Though, with the good benefits, comes some bad side effects. These include both physical and emotional pain and bad actions. Some medicines, such as Elvail or Surmontil, cause: dry mouth, blurred vision, sleepiness, muscle twitching, and increased heart rate, to name a few. Others, such as Prozac and Zoloft, may cause: sexual problems, dizziness, nausea, and insomnia. Most of these tell you to seek medical care immediately when experiencing these effects. Still, others may actually increase suicidal thinking in children and adolescents who already suffer from depression. in addition, they change the way a person behaves and acts, making them not be themselves.

Also, teens can feel defeated by their fears in life, and by troubles in their home life, friendships, and relationships. Troubles that exist in their home life may be a move to another house, a new member in the family, or the death of a loved one. Depression may be the product of all of these problems. Whatever the reason, teens will feel so consumed by these problems that taking their life seems as though it were the only escape and answer.

TWLOHA
A few years there was a girl who was terribly depressed. She carved f*** up on her arm. This was due to depression she felt because of the life around her. She found an outlet with cutting, one outlet that led down to a sad future. One day a group of friends took marker and wrote love ontop of the scares. That is how the group To Write Love On Her Arms started.
This organization, started by teens, works to fight depression and the side effects such as suicide. Most teens have no where to go when dealing with depression, atleast that is how they feel. twloha gives teens someone to talk to because of the way they reach out. The group organizes events and shows such as concerts where teens can go and congregate with those fighting the same problems as they. They began selling shirts with a logo Twloha to help pay for treatment of the girl who felt had nothing left. They now work to raise funds to help all those who are in need. They have blogs for people to talk to and as stated before they reach out at different events. They are taking the steps to help others in need
Depression is getting worse and worse everyday and it is mostly teens who are being effected. The biggest problem is that they feel they have no where to turn too. This organization gives those teens that person to talk to.
