Counseling

Depression is serious and often goes untreated in children and teens. Symptoms might be overlooked or minimized as part of growing up or something that will pass with time. In this blog we will look at how teens can receive help for their symptoms. Depression is treatable.

Children and teen depression therapy is effective in helping children and adolescents overcome the symptoms of depression. With counseling, children and teens soon learn that their feelings can change. There is hope for their future. Life can and will get better. They discover that there are some things they can do to better cope with their problems. The can talk about their pain, frustration, fears, and anger. They learn that they are not alone. Getting help for depression early can help prevent future problems and foster healthy growth and development.

The best way to receive the treatment needed for Suicide and Depression isn’t only found just through counseling. There is the religious and spiritual way of taking care of these symptoms. By going to church, praying to God, and living the life that Christ teaches us to live will help us get through those rough times. I believe that this is the main way of dealing with ANY type of symptoms not just suicide and depression. By asking God to guide us and help us, he will be there by our side to comfort and teach us the correct paths to choose.

  1. Although I am not big on the God aspect of counseling and God in my every day life. He, she, it is there and I agree that at faith plays a a major role in getting over something as hard as this, but this is coming from a Catholic point of view. Don't hold it against me. I personally believing counseling works but it also doesn't work a lot of the time. I have a family member who went through counseling and it just made it worse. The key to fighting depression and suicide is having something there who cares.

  2. I think that counseling is a good way to treat depression, and suicide. It is, though, just one form of help regarding matters of depression. It is good because you are put face-to-face with a real person, who cares about you, and talk about yourself. This is a good way to let out emotions and confront any problems. In addition, it can be done in complete secrecy and anonymously. This way nothing will go public and it can be done in peace and comfort of who knows your problems or life. With counseling, nothing is forced or mandatory, leading to a relaxed atmosphere. Counseling can also lead someone to a spiritual life and a new calling in their life. They may undergo a spiritual awakening and be relieved of their depression, and not want to commit suicide. In these ways, counseling can uplift someone’s emotions and lead to a new chapter in their life.

  3. I believe that counseling is the most important treatment for depression. I think that in order for a person to emotionally and mentally heal, he or she needs to speak of their troubles, pains, emotions, problems, and thoughts. I think that counseling is the best treatment, because it proves that the victim also wants to be helped. It shows that the efforts that the person's family, friends, and doctors put in are not useless, because the person is letting their guard down, to allow their loved ones to see through their mind and fears, and bring themselves to a healthy state of mind. I believe that counseling is the most effective way to help the victim, whether it be a child, teen, or adult, because it helps the support system to see through the mind of the person and find an agreeable path to health.
